This is golden time.  A favorite among many where the rush of holidays has passed and for just a few days, a few weeks, perhaps the entire month, many of us exhale and..... give into that much needed release.

Just yesterday I took Contigo out to the jumping pasture where I tossed a dozen carrots on the ground.  Watching him from a distance as he strolled and nibbled, I felt like I was receiving the treat -- what an honor to have another opportunity to lay my eyes on him, reflect and think, "What can I do today or tomorrow that would make our love and partnership grow stronger?" And for just that one thought he inspired, and how it trickles into the rest of my life, I'll always cherish him and the sport of dressage.

As the founder of Barnby Notes, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and thank you for joining me in the wonderful life we lead where we have the time, freedom and luxury to toss a few carrots on the ground, turn out our horses and stop, reflect and think.

In the upcoming January newsletter I'll share the New Year's Resolutions of several of our public notebook authors and a soulful story about the flight of a hawk.  Please sign up below if you aren't already on our growing list.
